Arrange an assessment when you notice damage
A small impact mark deserves attention before you assume it is harmless or wait for it to change. An early assessment gives you the opportunity to find out whether repair is suitable. It does not guarantee that every chip can be repaired or that replacement will be avoided.
Show the location as well as the damage
Send a close photo of the chip or crack and a wider photo showing where it sits on the windshield. Tell us when you first noticed it, whether it has changed, and whether anyone has already attempted a repair. Include the vehicle year, make, and model.
Size, depth, position, contamination, and surrounding cracks affect the assessment. Two marks that look similar in a photo may need different treatment. See our windshield chip repair page for what to expect from an evaluation.
Understand what a repair can achieve
Ask what result is realistic before work begins. Evidence of the impact may remain after a repair. If repair is unsuitable, we can discuss the vehicle details needed for a replacement quote, including the VIN and any known camera or sensor features.
Plan the next step safely
If damage obstructs your view or the vehicle is unsafe, do not drive it to an appointment. Explain the situation when you call so you can discuss mobile availability or appropriate transport arrangements.
Longhorn Auto Glass offers San Antonio shop appointments daily from 8 AM to 6 PM. Mobile service is available subject to the job and location. Send your vehicle details or call 210-885-1122 to check an appointment.
